Teri Fisher and Insight Strategies have become a trusted consulting partner in matters of strategic planning and processes to help develop and translate governing board policy into action. I have worked with Teri as Chief Executive officer to address these matters with our governing board and have worked with her as Chair of the Governing Board of the Washington State Transit Insurance Pool. In both cases Teri’s work exceeded expectations and evaluations from the participants verified high levels of satisfaction with the outcome of our group efforts. Teri demonstrates a highly effective facilitation style that strikes a good balance between keeping the process on track and inviting and encouraging engagement from the participants. I would definitely work with Teri in the future for assistance with this type of requirement.

Insight Strategies did a great job facilitating the strategic planning process at Sound Transit. They developed trust with our leadership team, served as thought partners, delivered engaging workshops, and were welcomed by many departments throughout the agency as collaborators. As a result of their facilitation and project management, we were able to deliver a strategic plan in about six months, a process that could have taken much longer given the size and diverse opinions of our stakeholders. This past year, I invited Teri Fisher of Insight Strategies to lead a Board of Directors Workshop involving the Omnitrans Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team along with other regional transportation leaders and stakeholders. I chose Insight Strategies and specifically Teri, due to her vast experience and proven results consulting with transit agencies on strategic initiatives, working with boards, and her ability to navigate and effectively facilitate complex issues. The purpose of the workshop was to discuss strategic priorities and ensure alignment on the future direction of the agency. Teri masterfully managed difficult topics of discussion while creating alignment between all parties. Participants reported feeling that their input was heard and that consensus was reached across highly political and charged topics. I would use Insight Strategies for future work involving strategic planning and working with Boards and recommend them without hesitation.

NTI is excited to partner with Insight Strategies to develop our Frontline Employee to Frontline Supervisor course. NTI was attracted to the Insight Team’s depth of experience working with transit agencies/organizations across the U.S., their high-level of professionalism, and their ability to deliver dynamic instructor-led courses. I am confident that Insight Strategies will produce the high-quality program we are known for at NTI and will represent our brand proudly. Simply put, Insight is helping NTI to further our mission to enhance skills and performance in public transportation.

When I reorganized the structure of the customer service functions at Metro during my tenure as Chief Communications Officer, the Insight Strategies team and I worked to develop a Training Pilot Program with a key focus on training for supervisors. The program evolved into a holistic training for the whole Customer Care Department with customized sessions for management, supervisors/leads and agents. But the Insight Team cleverly built the sessions to cover some of the same overarching themes so that all staff could benefit from some of the same principles and tools. This five-month pilot program was highly successful and well received by the whole Customer Care Team. It serves as a great model for other training programs, which would be all too lucky to have Teri, Kevin and their team guiding them through continuous improvement efforts.
